I. Pathophysiological research
The role of the antioxidant system in the development of metabolic diseases and their laboratory diagnosis.
In the frame of this research, mainly metabolic disorders of ruminants and the diagnostic laboratory methods are studied.
In developing chick embryo and newborn calves characteristic changes in the development of the antioxidant mechanisms are also studied. Antioxidant parameters are investigated in adult ruminants, as well.
II. Clinical research
This research field includes the following subjects:
pathogenesis and diagnostics of liver diseases, small animal cardiology,
ultrasonographic and endoscopic diagnosis of internal diseases in dogs, and cats,
as well as pet animal diseases. Clinical research relating to internal diseases
of large animals are performed at the Clinic for Large Animals, but is
supervised by the head of the Department and Clinic of Internal Medicine.
